SRM ENGINEER

YOUR ROLE

We're seeking a hands-on Solid Rocket Motor Engineer to join our team. This isn't just about theory; you'll be deeply involved in the practical aspects of designing, building, and testing real-world SRM systems with a focus on delivering reliable and robust solutions for defense applications.


Responsibilities:


Get your hands dirty:

  • Participate in rigorous laboratory testing of propellants, igniters, and other components under defense-relevant conditions.

  • Assist in the assembly and integration of rocket motors with a focus on mission-critical reliability.

  • Conduct static fire tests and analyze results with an emphasis on meeting stringent performance requirements.

  • Troubleshoot issues and develop solutions in a fast-paced and demanding environment.

Design and Analysis:

 

  • Contribute to the design and analysis of SRM components, but with a strong focus on practical implementation and meeting defense standards.

  • Perform trade studies and feasibility assessments with a focus on manufacturability, testability, and defense readiness.

Innovation:

  • Stay on top of the latest hands-on techniques and rapid prototyping methods in the SRM field with a specific focus on developing solutions for defense applications.

  • Experiment with new materials and manufacturing processes that enhance performance and reliability in demanding environments.

  • Contribute to the development of new and innovative testing methodologies for defense-relevant scenarios.

Teamwork:

  • Collaborate closely with fabrication technicians, test engineers, and other team members in a highly collaborative and results-oriented environment focused on delivering mission-critical capabilities.

  • Mentorship: Share your practical knowledge and defense-specific expertise with junior engineers.

WE WANT TO KNOW

WHO YOU ARE

Hands-on experience:

  • Essential: Prior experience working in a laboratory or machine shop environment.

  • Preferred: Experience with fabrication techniques (e.g., machining, welding, composites), data acquisition systems, and test stand operations in a defense-related context.

Strong fundamentals:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or a related field.

  • Solid understanding of solid propellant principles and rocket motor operation with a focus on defense applications.

Practical skills:

  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools.

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications with a focus on defense standards.

  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities in a high-pressure environment typical of defense projects.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with:

  • Rapid prototyping techniques (e.g., 3D printing) for defense-relevant applications.

  • Data acquisition and analysis software with a focus on defense-specific data requirements.

  • Test stand design and operation for defense-related testing.

Strong interest in:

  • "Making things work" and finding creative solutions to engineering challenges in the defense domain.

  • Continuous learning and staying up-to-date with the latest advancements in the field of defense-ready SRM technology.
